![]() “We are fortunate at WD to have an executive team that truly leads by example,” said Rose Krupp, director of the Western Digital Foundation. A number of executives have played significant roles in leading the LIVE UNITED campaign at the company. “Under (WD CEO) John Coyne’s leadership we have expanded our commitment to our local communities to provide for others in need. Our employees’ generosity is matched by the company and by partnering with United Way, we are assured that the funds will be distributed where most needed.” Last year, Orange County United Way recognized WD’s efforts by awarding the Irvine-based hard drive manufacturer with the organization’s highest honor, the Dimensions in Giving Award, which recognizes the corporate partner that has had the greatest impact on the Orange County community through fundraising efforts. “WD deserves a million thanks and so much more for their commitment to be part of the change to strengthen our community,” said Brie Griset-Smith, vice president of development at Orange County United Way. “Through partnerships with caring companies like WD, we’re able to provide hope, help, and access to a brighter future for Orange County children and families.” The contributions support the OCUW Community Impact Fund, which provides for 93 United Way programs in the areas of education, health, income and outreach, as well as the Destination Graduation and Banking on the Future initiatives, among other efforts.
