![]() Before the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim stepped onto the field against the Seattle Mariners last Friday, three Tiger Woods Foundation staff members who lead community golf programs and five of the Foundation’s scholars were recognized in front of baseball fans for their achievements and contributions to the community. Stacy Stark was honored at the event for her fifteen years of work at the Tiger Woods Foundation. Stark manages the Foundation’s National Junior Golf Team, serves as director of events, and plays an instrumental role in helping kids succeed in golf. Roman Gonzales, senior manager of golf and recreation at the Tiger Woods Learning Center and PGA Apprentice-Level 2 in the Professional Golfers’ Association of America Golf Management Program, was recognized for his continuous efforts to bring golf to thousands of underserved students since 2006. \Nick Badel, golf outreach manager at the Tiger Woods Learning Center, will be recognized for his success with the Mobile Golf Outreach program, which annually introduces golf to children in the community. Current members at the Foundation who were honored include Sachi Hamada, senior at Sunny Hills High School, has been a devoted golfer for eight consecutive years and is one of the first members of the Tiger Woods Learning Center. Superior academics and volunteer loyalty has qualified her for the Tiger Woods Foundation National Junior Golf Team. Jonah Texeira, six-year member of the Foundation, finished in a tie for 8th in his division at the Callaway Junior World Golf Championships this year. Jonah is a junior in High School and looking forward to attending USC with an athletic golf scholarship. Shaiyana Sam, Tiger Woods Learning Center student and recent Canyon High Grad, has recently joined the Irvine Valley College Women’s Golf Team. Sam is a proud defending Tiger Woods Learning Center Club Champion. Recent Foundation graduates who have gone on to college programs honored at the event include Johanna Otica, Tiger Woods Foundation scholarship recipient, is currently attending her dream school of Whitman College where she has promised to make every minute count. Foundation scholar Nhat Tong is currently studying at UCLA where he recently attended a LeaderSHAPE conference inspiring him to lead a future helping others.
