After just recently launching its largest restaurant worldwide in the Dominican Republic, the Orange Country-based Johnny Rockets has opened its newest large restaurant in Rancho Mirage. The new all-American burger joint is one of the biggest in the U.S., coming second in size only to the Knott’s Berry Farm location in Buena Park.
Franchise partner Nick Thomas has operated a successful Johnny Rockets restaurant in Camarillo with wife Marriette for nearly three years. Thomas said the couple set out to make the new location “the biggest and best eating establishment we could make it."
"We started with what is most readily identified with Johnny Rockets – the classic design, all-American menu and dancing servers – and added interesting architectural elements and food items created just for us by local chef Melinda Garland,” Thomas said. “We look forward to welcoming Coachella Valley residents and visitors to our fun, friendly and flavorful dining experience."
The 5,200-square-foot restaurant offers seating for 198 guests, and as added a unique twist to the iconic brand’s classic menu. In addition to the signature juicy hamburgers, crispy American fries served with a ketchup smiley face, hand-spun shakes and classic sandwiches, this Johnny Rockets has thrown added items specifically designed for their desert audience, including expanded breakfast offerings.
"With nearly 50,000 residents, along with the influx of visitors that the area welcomes during the winter months, the demographics are extremely conducive to our lively brand," added John Fuller, CEO of Johnny Rockets. "Nick and Marriette are superb franchise operators, and we have every expectation that their second restaurant will be just as successful as their Camarillo location."
Located at the Waterfront and across from The River, the large Rancho Mirage location is sure to bring hype from local residents as well as visitors to the area.
