Lake Forest-based ProBoards, the largest provider of free forum hosting on the Internet, has been awarded “Best Hosted Forum” for the second consecutive year. The award was presented by Forum-Software.org, an independent business resource that helps consumers choose the right community software that fits their needs.
The winner was calculated based on user website votes.
“With an amazing score of 10,742 votes, ProBoards wins for the second time the Best Hosted Forum Software Award of 2012,” said Nicolas Ternisien, founder of Forum-Software.org. “With ProBoards version 5 official release getting closer and closer, providing tons of great and unique features making ProBoards the most advanced hosted forum service on the market, we do certainly understand why it got so many votes.”
ProBoards was launched in 2000, and is the preferred provider for forum building. It currently has 22 million registered users and has been used in creating 3.5 million forums.
“It is an honor to receive an award that truly validates the viability and popularity of our feature-rich, easy to use Internet forums thousands of which are created every single week,” said Patrick Clinger, CEO and founder of ProBoards. “As we remain laser focused on creating the best user experience, we look forward to introducing our version 5.0, which will take this platform to a completely new and more customizable and Web 2.0 interactive level.”
