Lyon Communities names new chief operating officer
Trent Brooks joins the firm to oversee business operations

Trent D. BrooksNewport Beach-based Lyon Communities has appointed Trent Brooks as the real estate company’s new chief executive in charge of operations. Brooks will be responsible for the firm’s business operations for the company’s multi-family portfolio of real estate in California, Colorado, Georgia and Florida.
Lyon Communities is a privately held real estate development and investment firm specializing in community development, property management and multi-family ventures.
“Lyon Communities is well known for its quality and multi-family expertise which spans all stages of real estate development, construction and management,” Brooks said. “This is a truly great opportunity for me to build upon the company’s long history of success. It’s a very exciting time to be joining Lyon Communities.”
Prior to joining Lyon Communities, Brooks worked at CWCapital, where he served as managing director for three years, where he oversaw the growth, management and development of the company’s commercial lending platform in the western U.S. While at CW, he was also was a member of the firm’s operating committee.
Frank Suryan, Jr., Lyon Communities’ chairman and CEO, said Brooks’ appointment brings important experience to the firm. “He will be a valued asset to our Executive Team and his impressive experience in the financing of multi-family communities will provide the Company with the additional leadership necessary to enhance the implementation of our strategic planning objectives and long-term profitability.”
