![]() The current project centers on an upgrade to the existing Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) already in place. The contract is approved for an initial $928,000 in work, with a maximum ceiling of $974,000 if all options are pursued. Iteris will handle the equipment acquisition, integration and signal timing design, implementation and support services at 46 intersections in Anaheim and Orange. “This signal coordination project is intended to improve the safety of these intersections, while providing a better travel experience through reduced travel times, stops and delays,” said Abbas Mohaddes, president and CEO of Iteris. “These are three key elements in effective traffic management, and represent the value proposition we provide our partners like the City of Anaheim.” In the past, Iteris has assisted with the design and deployment of a robust traffic control system in and around the Disney Resort area and countywide signal timing coordination projects in surrounding cities. Anaheim Mayor Tom Tait said, “My goals are to keep the city strong, healthy and happening. All of this starts with delivering reliable travel times to connect people to the community. Anaheim is very pleased to work with the City of Orange, Caltrans, and OCTA to improve the flow of both vehicle and bus traffic along Lincoln Avenue with traffic signal coordination through Anaheim and to our neighbors in the adjacent cities.” Iteris prides itself upon its work; the company says that it refines the development of technologies and software information systems that specialize in reducing traffic blockage by correct time management and precise predictive traffic diagnostic, always keeping safety in mind.
