It raised some eyebrows. Cynics muttered that “hot” had little to do with success and a lot more to do with – well, you know – superficial stuff. Two decades later, we have proved more than a few doubters wrong. The Hot 25 List is still one of the coolest honors in Orange County, and it speaks volumes about O.C. in terms of innovation, diversity and the future. Our 2012 list is further evidence of the wealth of talent and personalities that make this community a special place to launch new ideas, grow businesses and explore new frontiers. We’ve spotlighted more than 600 individuals since we profiled that first class of “change agents” who were making waves in their field of endeavor. Every year, our search process begins in January. We track the region’s movers and shakers in the news and, more recently, on Facebook and through LinkedIn. We also receive a flood of nominations. Then, in August, we begin to narrow the list: first to 100, then to 50, and finally to the much-anticipated list of 25 of the most impressive and influential people in O.C. Here they are for 2012. |
