Jay Cohen Age Well Senior Services, Orange County’s leading nonprofit provider of programs, services and resources for seniors, will honor Dr. Jay Cohen, executive chairman of Monarch HealthCare, at the organization’s 13th annual Captain’s Ball gala and fundraiser on March 2 at the Ritz-Carlton in Laguna Niguel. Prior to co-founding Monarch, Dr. Cohen served as vice-president and medical director for Pacific Physician Services, Inc. Contemporaneous with his executive responsibilities, he served as a clinician for 18 years, initially as an emergency physician and most recently as a primary care physician in Mission Viejo. Dr. Cohen has served on numerous Governing Boards, including the California Association of Physician Groups (CAPG), Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center, and South County Senior Services Center. He is past chairman of the Physician Groups for Coordinated Care (PGCC), and past chairman of the CAPG Board of Directors. He is also a member of UCI’s Health Care Management and Policy Board of Advisors at The Paul Merage School of Business, and assistant clinical professor at the UCI School of Medicine, where he helps teach residents and medical students about the health care industry.
