Alzheimer’s Association, Orange County (AAOC), one of Southern California’s premier nonprofit organizations for Alzheimer’s research and education, welcomes Laguna Niguel resident and philanthropist Greg Mech to its distinguished board of directors. Mech joins the nonprofit’s existing team of esteemed advocates in guiding AAOC’s initiatives this year, aimed at raising critical funds and awareness for Alzheimer’s no-cost programs and services for families and caregivers.
Mech is managing director for CAPROCK Group, a wealth management firm with offices in Newport Beach. Previously, he served in the same capacity for Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc., and was the former president of Silverlakes Park LLC, where he was responsible for developing the largest youth soccer and sports facility in North America. He brings extensive experience in nonprofits, having served on the boards of the Chicago YMCA, the Segerstrom Center for the Performing Arts and the Freedom Writer’s Foundation.
