Alejandro Angulo Alejandro S. Angulo, a partner at Rutan & Tucker, LLP, California’s largest full-service business law firm based in Orange County, is the recipient of the Corporate Spirit Award bestowed by the Long Beach City Council during the city’s annual Peace Week commemoration to honor the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. A graduate of Long Beach State University and former city resident, Angulo was one of six honorees in the Peace Maker Awards program, who were chosen this year based upon their background of volunteering in the community and promoting messages of community engagement, nonviolence and unity. Angulo is a member of the firm’s Trial Department and Intellectual Property & Technology Practice Group, where his practice consists of general business and civil litigation, as well as consulting with clients on pre-litigation and transactional matters. As a business litigator, his experience includes both jury and non-jury trials and prosecuting and defending his clients’ interests in various pre-trial matters, including dispositive motions and injunctive relief. Angulo also handles intellectual property litigation and related matters. He has represented a broad range of clients, including high net worth individuals and publicly held companies, in state and federal courts, administrative proceedings and private arbitrations. Angulo has dedicated numerous pro bono hours assisting The SMART Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting schools and communities in developing educational opportunities that incorporate creative, innovative and imaginative skill sets for children through music and arts education. He plays the upright bass with the Smarts Execs, a jazz group that performs at nonprofit fundraising events. He is also active with the Communities in Schools program, which is devoted to helping at-risk middle school kids stay in school and prepare for successful lives.
